For Sarah Percy, strength training wasn’t about adding another piece of equipment to her Gold Coast clinic. It was about giving women more ways to build confidence, capacity and strength through every stage of life.
Female Physio Co. is an evidence-based women’s health physiotherapy clinic on the Gold Coast, founded by physiotherapist Sarah Percy. The clinic works with women across pregnancy, postnatal recovery, menopause, pelvic pain, prolapse and incontinence.
For Sarah and her team, movement and rehabilitation are about more than treating a condition. They are about helping women return to the things they want to do, whether that’s preparing for birth, getting back into exercise after having a baby, or simply feeling stronger in everyday life.
That made strength training an important part of the clinic’s next step.

Strength Has a Place in Women’s Health Rehab
Many of Female Physio Co.’s clients come to the clinic with goals that extend well beyond the treatment room.
They may want to prepare their body for birth. They may be returning to exercise after pregnancy. Or they may be managing conditions such as prolapse while wanting to build strength and confidence safely.
For Sarah, strength training plays a vital role in helping those clients progress.
“Strength training is such a vital part of any rehab program.”Previously, the clinic had primarily used Pilates equipment. While Pilates remained valuable, Sarah wanted to give her clients access to another form of strength training without compromising the considered, supportive approach that Female Physio Co. is known for.
That’s where the VERVE Tori came in.
More Ways to Train, Without Losing the Focus on Technique
The Tori gave Sarah and her team a much broader range of options within the clinic’s existing space.
Its cable system allows the team to work smaller accessory muscles, as well as movements such as lat pulldowns, chest presses and unilateral and bilateral exercises.
For a women’s health clinic, that versatility matters.
The same piece of equipment can support different training goals and different stages of rehabilitation, while allowing the physiotherapist to closely monitor technique, breathing and movement quality.
“There’s so many things we can do that a postpartum woman needs to be doing, but we can do it in a way that’s really nurturing their technique and really making sure that they can use their breath appropriately.”For Female Physio Co., the Tori wasn’t simply another way to exercise. It expanded the clinic’s ability to progressively introduce strength into women’s rehabilitation.
Designing the Space Around How People Actually Move
Choosing the equipment was only part of the process.
Female Physio Co. needed to make the most of its available floor space while maintaining a clinic environment that felt open, functional and welcoming.
This was where Sarah found VERVE’s planning process particularly valuable.
When mapping out the clinic, the VERVE team helped the team visualise how people would actually move through the space, rather than simply placing equipment on a floor plan.
“Tim would show us where literally people would be working.”Seeing the equipment and movement patterns represented in a 3D floor plan gave Sarah confidence that the space would work not just on paper, but in practice.
For a clinic where multiple people may be training, treating and moving at the same time, that level of planning makes a difference.
Equipment That Fits the Clinic, Not Just the Floor
There was another consideration for Sarah: the equipment needed to feel at home in the clinic.
Female Physio Co. had intentionally created an aesthetically pleasing environment, and the new training area needed to complement that.
Sarah was immediately impressed by the Tori’s design.
“They are the most beautiful machines I’ve ever seen.”It’s a small detail, but an important one. When equipment sits inside a health clinic rather than a traditional gym, its appearance, footprint and integration into the environment all contribute to the overall client experience.
And according to Sarah, her clients noticed.
“We’ve had such a great response from all of our clients who have seen the gym for the first time.”Expanding What Female Physio Co. Can Offer
Ultimately, the biggest change wasn’t the equipment itself.
It was what the equipment allowed Sarah and her team to do.
With more tools available for strength training, Female Physio Co. can continue building its services around the different needs of its clients, from pregnancy and postnatal rehabilitation through to longer-term strength and health.
Sarah describes it as having “so many new offerings and so many new skills in the clinic.”
For a growing women’s health practice, that creates more opportunity to support clients through different stages of their lives, with the right combination of clinical expertise, movement and strength training.

“I’m So Happy That I’ve Gone With VERVE”
For Sarah, the experience extended beyond the equipment.
From planning the space to seeing how the finished gym was received by clients, VERVE became part of the process of expanding what Female Physio Co. could offer.
Her verdict is simple:
“Overall, VERVE, I cannot fault their service. I will sing their praises from the rooftop.”And perhaps the strongest endorsement comes at the end of her testimonial:
“I’m so happy that I’ve gone with VERVE. And I genuinely mean that too. It has been so good.”For Female Physio Co., the goal was never simply to add more equipment.
It was to create more ways for women to move, rehabilitate and get stronger, while keeping the clinical care and attention to technique at the centre of the experience.
That’s what the right training environment can make possible.
