A straight bar hangs in front of you. Every kilo you add pulls you forward, and your lower back spends the whole set fighting to keep you upright. You can train around that for a while. Most people do. Then the deadlift quietly drops out of the program.

A trap bar fixes the load position. Most trap bars then create a new problem: fixed handles, fixed height, fixed everything. If you are tall the pull starts too low. If your shoulders are wide the grip is too narrow. And the bar only does one job, so you buy another bar for squats and another for presses, and the floor fills up with steel that gets used once a week.

The VERVE Open Trap Bar solves both. It puts the load in line with your centre of gravity, then adjusts to fit the person lifting it. Three grip widths, two grip heights, rackable for bench and yoke squats, a centre knurl for cambered squats, and a built-in deadlift jack so you can load it on your own. Built for home gyms and commercial floors.

Key Features

Handles That Fit You, Not The Average
Three grip widths: 600mm, 640mm and 680mm. A 165cm lifter and a 195cm lifter can use the same bar in the same session without either of them compromising. Set it once for yourself, or move it between sets on a busy gym floor.

Two Grip Heights
Flip the handles to change the range of motion. The high setting shortens the pull for heavier top-end work or for lifters whose hips are not ready for a full-depth start. The low setting gives you the full range and the full stretch. One bar, two very different training effects.

Rackable For Bench Press And Yoke Squats
The bar sits in your rack, so it stops being a deadlift-only tool. Neutral-grip bench press that is kinder on the shoulders. Yoke squats that load the torso instead of the wrists and elbows. Two specialty bars you no longer need to buy.

Centre Knurl On The Main Tube
Turn the bar over and you have a cambered bar squat. The centre knurl grips your back instead of sliding, and the offset load makes your trunk work far harder than a straight bar does.

Built-In Deadlift Jack
Tip the bar, load the plates, tip it back. No jack to buy and no training partner needed to change weights. Protective floor liners on the feet stop the loading zone chewing through your rubber.

Extra Long Machined Plate Sleeves
Load what you actually pull, bumpers included, and keep loading as you get stronger. Machined hard chrome plated sleeves mean plates slide on and come off cleanly instead of fighting you at the end of a hard set.

Four Stainless Steel Handles Included
Four knurled 29mm stainless steel handles come with the bar. Stainless holds its grip without the chalk-and-rust cycle you get from bare steel. Want a thicker grip for forearm work or a thinner one for smaller hands? The 25mm and 38mm handles drop straight in, sold separately.

Open Frame Design
Step straight in and out. Lunges, farmers carries, presses and split squats without climbing through a closed hex frame.
