Dubliner Killian Carolan is the most recent addition to the team of VERVE athletes.

He flew out of Dublin this morning and on Sunday May 13th he'll be competing for the second time in the Kerns US Open in San Diego, California at one of the largest Powerlifting meets in the world.  He is aiming to bring back a Champion title in the 220lb class with a man-eating 500+ Wilks score.  VERVE are elated to be cheering CAROLAN on as he makes Ireland proud.

Youth is not wasted on the young.  At 22 years old, Killian Carolan has stormed the Powerlifting world via the back door and has taken no prisoners.  His first love from a young age was always Rugby.  Carolan attended a prestigious private school on a Rugby scholarship and dabbled in the 100M sprint.  Due to a catastrophic knee injury, he was forced to give up all things Rugby at just 19 years of age.

Not one to settle, Carolan was introduced to Powerlifting as a form of rehabilitation following on from a lengthy seven knee surgeries.  Specialists told him he would never lift heavy again.  Carolan’s first mentor was Eamonn Harford, 2ndplace in IPO All Time Male Rankings and boasts an awe inspiring 300KG beltless deadlift.

Fast forward 2 ½ years later, Carolan is deep in the game with new coach Jay Farrant of ABS Powerlifting Gym at the helm. This Irish Beast was a firm favourite competing recently on Strength Wars- combining serious heavy lifting with the addition of CrossFit Style engine heavy WODs.  Beast mode doesn't even start to describe it!

We're behind Killian and look forward to seeing him perform with verve.

We have a full range of VERVE Apparel you can wear and become part of the VERVE Squad, just as Killian is.
