PREPARATION

MOISTURE REQUIREMENTS
Test the concrete slab for Relative Humidity (RH) prior to beginning the installation using the Relative Humidity test method in accordance with ASTM 2170. The Relative Humidity of the concrete slab should be 95% or less. Do not begin the installation if an unacceptable moisture level is detected or visual moisture is present. If excessive moisture is present, the building contractor or building owner must be advised and a decision made if the installation is to begin. VERVE will not be responsible for any moisture related installation failures if these guidelines are not strictly followed.
pH Requirements—Test the concrete for alkalinity prior to beginning the installation. Check the concrete for surface pH at several locations. A reading below 7.0 or above 12.0 requires corrective measures.
pH testing shall be in accordance with ASTM F710 in conjunction with the pH test strip manufacturer’s recommendations. If the surface of the concrete is non-porous or burnished (highly finished) the surface of the concrete must be ground off prior to the pH testing being undertaken. If in doubt, test the porosity of the substrate by doing the water drop test. This is performed by applying a small amount of water to the surface to assess how long it takes to penetrate the surface. An open porous substrate should see the water penetrate and dissipate within 90 seconds

FLOOR PREPARATION
All subfloor surfaces shall be dry, smooth, sound and clean, free of wax, grease, oil, old adhesive, paint, curing compounds, laitance, bond breakers and all other contaminants that inhibit adequate adhesion to the sub-floor. The sub-floor must also be free from hydrostatic pressure or capillary action. The adhesive should not be used in excessive cold or hot conditions i.e. below 8°c or above 28°c.
Uneven or damaged floors should be repaired with a cementitious levelling compound. All subfloors should be tested for relative humidity (RH) prior to the application of this adhesive. The RH of the sub-floor should not exceed 75% per ASTMF2170. Do not use this adhesive if the moisture content /relative humidity levels are above the acceptable standards. All subfloors should in accordance with current Australian standard installation practices.

ADHESIVE
A suitable indoor/outdoor synthetic turf adhesive should be used for the installation of the Astro Turf.

INSTALLATION
It is recommended to have the installation of the Astro Turf done by a qualified flooring specialist. VERVE will not be liable for any damage/issues due to incorrect installation. Prior to installation, the Astro Turf should be unrolled completely and checked for any defects. Store the turf in the facility to be installed and allow to ‘rest’ for at least 24-48 hours before installation. Roll half-way, make sure the turf has no overhang with adjoining turf or rubber flooring Make sure the turf borders are cut straight, if not make any adjustments required. If the rolls of turf need to be cut to fit, a sharp Stanley knife should be used with the aid of a straight edge. Using a 5mm V Notch trowel, apply the adhesive to the floor where the turf is to be installed, ensuring the ENTIRE surface has adequate adhesive, particularly where the edges of the roll will be positioned. Lay the turf down, applying a ‘rolling downward’ pressure to ensure that there are no lumps/air pockets in the roll. A HD Vinyl Roller is recommended to do this. If there are any joins to be made with another roll (to add length or width to the track), ensure that the rolls are positioned closely together to prevent the visibility of the seams/joins. All edges should be weighed down using weights for 24 hours, and the turf should not be used in this time

POST INSTALLATION NOTES
Do not use the Astro Turf for at least 48 hours to allow the track to cure/settle properly.

Special Delivery Instructions

VERVE partners with a range of courier and freight companies to ensure your items are quickly and safely delivered to your specified delivery address. The OH&S guidelines for our current courier/freight partners note that goods will be delivered to "a safe or easy to access location" but what constitutes an easy to access location is at the discretion of the couriers.
If you require items to be transported beyond the threshold of your location or into a location that might not be deemed 'easy to access' (example - up stairs or down narrow passages) we can work with you to coordinate specialist delivery and installation technicians at an additional cost - otherwise your goods will be delivered to the safest location that is easy to access.
NOTE: When you checkout your order, you will also be given the opportunity to leave any special instructions for the delivery person. Please ensure that you enter any relevant details to assist with the safe and efficient delivery of your goods.
